When are the Council Meetings?

Regular Town Council meetings are held on the 3rd (third) Monday of each month at 7pm at the town hall. Meetings are open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend and participate.

Code of Conduct for Council Meetings:

Public Rules of Engagement & Expectations

  • Speak only during the designated public comment periods or when officially recognized by the presiding officer.

  • Limit individual comments to three (3) minutes to ensure all citizens have an equal opportunity to be heard.

  • Confine remarks to items within the jurisdiction of the Town Council or the specific agenda item under discussion.

  • Address all remarks to the Council as a whole, not to individual members, staff, or other audience members.

Prohibited Behavior

  • Shouting, booing, clapping, foot-stamping, or loud out-of-turn commentary that disrupts the orderly flow of the meeting.

  • Profanity, personal insults, defamatory language, or threats directed at anyone in the room.

Enforcement & Recourse Procedures

The Presiding Officer is legally authorized to maintain order using the following sequential steps:

  1. Warning: The Chair will call the individual to order and provide a verbal warning explaining the violation.

  2. If the behavior continues, the Chair will rule the speaker out of order and terminate their remaining speaking time.

  3. If the individual continues to disrupt the meeting, the Chair will direct the individual to escort themselves from the building.

  4. Persistent, malicious disruption or refusal to leave will result in a law enforcement citation for criminal trespass or disorderly conduct.

We are grateful for your time, your commitment to our community, and your partnership in shaping a bright future for our town. Thank you for being an essential part of this process."
